It is growing rapidly and the reason behind it’s growth is that it is offering high-quality TV sets at affordable prices.

We have been using VU TV’s for the past 5-6 years now without any issue occurring so far. Impressed by it’s mid-range TV’s we decided to go for VU for getting a premium 55 inch TV too, and it has been a year of us using this TV so we will help you with my experience along with it’s pros and cons with this specific model VU Premium 4K TV series.

Software & Interface

VU works with Google for enabling the smart connectivity on its televisions. Here, the VU 4K Premium TV runs on Android 9 Pie which gives us access to all the popular apps and streaming services. Here, in VU TV’s there is no limitations unlike some other Android TV’s, here we can access everything that is available. Netflix, Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video comes pre-installed where in we can watch  4K, Dolby Vision and HDR10 content as well. We can use Google Assistant and Google Home to control some of the features of the TV with Voice Commands.

The TV is quick to start from standby and it doesn’t need to boot up completely every time again when it’s turned on. We can access the full list of Settings just from the home-screen while the picture and sound settings can be accessed while the content is been played from any source.

Performance & Picture Quality

The VU Premium 4K TV supports the HDR up to the Dolby Vision format making the TV capable of handling pretty much everything quite nicely.

We tried playing some sample video clips to test the 4K Dolby Vision, and the colours and the motions were handled decently by the TV and also the picture was decently bright and sharp. The black levels were a bit greyish across the screen for all the dark scenes while the bright scenes we played, they were a joy to watch.

We observed that the colour temperature changes as the resolution is switched, making the 4K content seem a bit more dull than the Full HD Content. The TV’s built-in algorithms for picture improvement don’t always work well. We tried switching to HD Content from the Full HD Content and the picture is not very sharp, colours are also average and the motion is jittery. About the Standard Definition Content it is overall very average.

Audio Quality

The sound system of this TV is quite decent, loud and clear. It comes with 30 Watts dual bottom firing speakers. You will also get Dolby Audio and DTS Virtual-X Surround Sound.
