The packaging was quite good. The looks are very premium, of course since it is a premium dishwasher. It is having this very nice silver mirror finish, glossy look. At the backside we have the water inlet and outlet pipe and the power cable. The built quality is really very good. It is stainless steel. About the first look inside when we open the dishwasher, there we have some setup instructions, manual, warranty card, a funnel for adding the salt in the dishwasher, a cutlery basket.
TrueSteam Technology: It ensures that boiling water reaches the complete surface area of every dish that’s in the tub, thereby ensuring a hassle-free cleaning process. This is a very good and unique feature in this dishwasher and works very well. If we compare with other dishwashers, we get slightly better results here due to this technology.
QuadWash Feature: The QuadWash feature provides maximum coverage, with multi-motion spray arms and high-pressure jets, to clean all your dishes thoroughly.
EasyRack Plus: This dishwasher’s adjustable racking system ensures that it can handle all challenges when it comes to accommodating your dishes.
Inverter Direct Drive Motor: This dishwasher has been designed with LG’s Inverter Direct Drive motor which facilitates an efficient and silent operation.
LG Smart ThinQ App
This dishwasher comes with smart feature which lets you connect this dishwasher to your smartphone with Wi-Fi and control it with LG ThinQ app. The features lets you check the cleaning status, remaining wash time and will be getting notification when the cycle is completed. Also you will get notification for refilling the salt or rinse-aid.
Additionally it allows you to download new wash cycles to meet your needs—such as Pots & Pans, Casseroles, Glassware and Night Care.
Machine Clean Reminder- Keep your dishwasher fresh by activating the Machine Clean Reminder. After every 30 cycles the lighted indicator will let you know it’s time to run the cleaning cycle.
Smart Diagnosis helps solve problems quickly and efficiently through your smartphone, with suggestions for easy solutions and next steps.
The installation is quite simple and very similar to the washing machine installation. You would need a 16 amp power supply port, a water connection is required for water inlet and one drain outlet space for waste water flow.
Design and Overview
This LG Dishwasher does look very premium, we get the touch panel control. When we open the door, we get the dishwasher dispenser for rinse air, tablet/detergent. We have the quad wash spray arm. The spray arms keep changing and moving the direction if we rotate the spray arm. We get one drain filter below that which we have to clean once every month, as all the waste gets accumulated at that place. And then we have a place given where we have to add the dishwasher salt. The upper rack of this dishwasher is adjustable.
Starting from the left, we first have the power button, then we have all the cleaning modes. In the center of the touch panel we have a digital led display for the timer, around which we have some led indicators for rinse aid, machine clean, salt and wi-fi. Moving toward the right side we have some efficiency options – Dual Zone, Half Load, Energy Saver and then we have some performance options as in if you need Extra Steam, Extra Dry or High Temperature. And then we have the Delay Start option and at last we have the Start button. We also have a feature of child-lock, for which we need to hold the Half Load + Energy Saver buttons together for 3 seconds to enable or disable the child-lock.
Cycles: Auto Mode, Intensive / Machine Clean, Delicate, Refresh, Eco / Rinse, Turbo / Express, Download Cycle
Cycle Options: Dual Zone, Half Load, Energy Saver, Steam, High Temp., Extra Dry
The washing quality is excellent. We are getting around 90-95% good results and all the utensils would be 90% dry after wash cycle is completed. Here are some sample utensils wash quality after and before.
Dishwasher Salt: Using a Dishwasher Salt is optional, it can be used if the water in your region is very hard, in that case you must use the Dishwasher Salt. The Dishwasher Salt doesn’t actually enter the Dishwasher instead it flows through the softener unit before being drained with the waste water. This costs around Rs.100-150 for 1 kg depending on the brand you use and it lasts for up to 2-3 months depending upon your usage.
Rinse Aid: The Rinse Aid helps in drying your utensils. The main reason to use a Rinse Aid is to get rid of water spots, which can be particularly problematic if you have hard water. Rinse Aid will cost you around Rs.100-250 for 400 ml depending on the brand you use. Rinse Aid lasts for around 15 Days once refilled depending upon your usage.
Dishwasher Detergent Powder: This will cost you around Rs.150-350 for 1 kg depending on the brand you are using. 1 KG Dishwasher Detergent lasts for about a month depending on your usage.
Dishwasher Tablet: This will cost you around Rs.15-30 per tablet depending on the brand. The advantage of the Dishwasher Tablet over the Dishwasher Detergent is that most of the tablets contain the Dishwasher Salt and Rinse Aid in it so you need not buy it separately, you need to check the description of the tablet which you are buying for this. 1 tablet is used for 1 wash cycle.
Pros and Cons
Lastly I would say that if you are planning to buy a Dishwasher then you should surely consider this model in your option list, I know this is a bit expensive but in return the wash quality you get there is amazing.
